Sad to hear about the passing of Carroll Shelby There are many pages and chapters that were written about his achievements in the automotive and racing world, this is a tribute...

In that Golden Age of horse-power where broad shouldered V12's rippled with high compression muscle, tore up the road and filled the air with deep throated roars, warning of their intentions! Amid cars that rewrote the laws of physics with acceleration that could knock you senseless, and race car credentials of a long lineage and noble families! Carroll Shelby tipped the performance world upside down with his motley crew of West-Coast Hot Rodders. They weren't interested in making history, yet they made it! They weren't interested in creating legends, and yet their legends still shine brightly! They wanted to be the fastest, and having done that, they wanted to be champions... And in that brief glittering snap shot of history, Carroll Shelby saw his dreams, and the dreams of those around him come to pass, in a land where giants once roamed!

Perth Formula One star, Daniel Ricciardo, debuted in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in July 2011. In a deal brokered by Red Bull and influenced by Mark Webber, Ricciardo was on loan to the Spanish based Hispania Formula 1 team. Daniel has been a reserve driver for the Red Bull F1 team and was tipped to join the Torro Rosso team in the future; Well that has become a reality much to Daniel's and his families surprise. He will be driving for the Torro Rosso team in 2012 - Congratulations Daniel! I spent an afternoon with Daniel's parents, his dad is a customer of Motorabilia and he got me a Red Bull Racing cap autographed by Danial and showed me around his impressive collection of F1 memorabilia as well as his Blue Ferrari Dino!

Congratulations to Casey Stoner and Honda, This young man has done Australia proud, winning the Moto GP World Championship. Casey's 2012 performance is also outstanding with a solid start to the season and leading the championship. Casey has a rare combination on skill, maturity and attitude, while Mike Doohan may have won 5 Moto GP championships to become a legend, Casey Stoner is following in his footsteps. Wish we could say the same for Mark Webber, he is famous this year for finishing 4th in the last 4 races but in saying that Mark Webber is 2nd in the World Championship standing. We are still backing Mark for a turn around this season but he just can't match the pace of Vettel.

Congratulations to Sebastian Vettel, he was just unstoppable this season and hardly put a foot wrong. Minichamps have finally release the 2010 World Championship winning Red Bull RB6 of Sebastian Vettel in very limited numbers.

Carousel 1 is taking a break and not producing any more models. This may be your last chance to add these Indy 500 winners to your collection. Latest New Models.
