Graham Hill scored his fourth of a total of five Monaco Grand Prix victories driving this brand new Lotus 49B at the annual May of 1968 Monte Carlo race. Monaco was the beginning of what was to become the year of the wing, and Team Lotus showed up with a wedge shaped car that sported a low mounted wing behind the carburettors. Graham Hill's record setting victory then, and the adhesion of the new, radically shaped Lotus, set wondering minds to thinking. |

Zürich-born Fischer came to prominence in 1949 when racing a HWM to sixth at the Prix de Berne, driving with Moss. Having proved his talent he ordered a specially-built Ferrari 212 for himself to go Grand Prix racing in 1951. His World Championship participation was limited to the nearby Swiss, German and Italian GPs and he certainly did not make a fool of himself. Profiting from his local knowledge he delivered in 1952, helped by his acquisition of one of the latest Ferrari 500 models. |

Though they began as separate entities, they were mechanically identical and parts were swapped between them as needed, making the identities and legacies inseparable.
The result was a huge engine with a bare chassis attached to it and no bodywork whatsoever. They were heavily engineered, with an 18.8 L inline-4 engine, 230-lb flywheel, a bore of 7.25 inches and a stroke of 7.0 inches. Power was quoted anywhere from 70 to 100 horsepower. There was no rear suspension, no differential, and steering was controlled by a crude metal bar. |

Oldfield,
having absolutely no driving experience, learned how to race the 999. In his October 1902 debut, a five-mile race known as the Manufacturers' Challenge Cup,
he easily won. The 999 set a course speed record at Grosse Point, and went on to tour America and score many other victories.
![]() On January 12, 1904, Henry Ford personally drove the 999 to a speed of 91.37 mph on Lake St. Clair, a land speed record. |

For
1979 private teams would have to carry the flag for for Porsche by competing with the former factory 936s and customer 934s and 935s. And carry it they did! Lubrifilm Racing hired Herbert Müller to share the driving duties with Lubrifilm regulars, Angelo Pallavicini and Marco Vanoli. The Swiss trio drove a fantastic race, keeping the pressure on without relent. They held the lead in Group 4 from flag to flag, finishing the gruelling event more than 30 laps ahead of their nearest Group 4 competitor, another Porsche 934. The #82 car finished in 4th place overall, having covered 2,468.58 miles at an average speed of 102.85mph. |

The real story is that the Lubrifilm Racing entry finished a mere lap behind the third place Hawaiian Tropic Porsche 935/77, and just two laps behind the second place 935/77 of Porsche Kremer Racing, both cars that many would have considered to be much faster! The outright winner was a very advanced Porsche Kremer Racing prepared 935 K3. The privately entered 936s, incidently, failed to finish. |

In fact, the "X-Ray" 935 may well have secured outright victory had it not suffered a great deal of trouble: brake problems, fuel injector pump, and a turbocharger that needed to be replaced! | $399aud In Stock including free delivery to anywhere in the world! |

Alfetta, engines were supercharged to 350 bhp and combined with light weight, the cars had immediate success. For 1951, the Alfetta featured
dual superchargers, cranking out nearly 425 bhp and a DeDion rear axle reducing unsprung weight. The
extra power meant a larger fuel tank which in turn extended the body. Add to this the

The late Sixties and
the early Seventies, was when the Corvette L-88's ruled A-production and GT
racing in the USA. The street legal EPA-approved L-88's were monsters, created
by Zora Arkus-Duntov and Chevrolet Corvette engineers to realize the
unfulfilled promise of the Grand Sports, which the L-88's did with win after
win. Today most of these cars have been acquired by wealthy collectors, but you
can recall those thrilling days of yesteryear with a Carousel 1 Corvette L-88
model. |
