Jason Button World Champion
In 2009 Button rode in the Brawn GP Formula One Team, along with former Honda colleague Rubens Barrichello, who was supposed to be replaced by his fellow countryman Brunno Senna. Although the new team had only limited time to prepare for the first race, the first test drives of the Brawn BGP001 showed that the team was one step ahead of the competition. Experts doubted that the British race team was competitive enough and assumed that the fast lap times were only an instrument to search for the desperately needed sponsors, rather than serious trials. |

The first race at Melbourne confirmed the great shape Brawn was in. After achieving the pole position in the qualifying session, Button won the first race. A week later in Malaysia he repeated the exact same thing. Further victories followed in Bahrain, Spain and the prestigious Monaco. He also won the seventh Grand Prix of the year, in Turkey. He took advantage of a mistake, made by Sebastian Vettel, who lost the lead in the first lap. The following two races at Great Britain and Germany, which took place in cold weather conditions, were not marked by success. Red Bull won the next few races and therefore the lead in the championship slowly melted. Although his lead in the driver’s championship decreased race by race, his direct competitors caught up with him very slowly. With a fifth place at the second last race of the year, in Brazil, Button was able to secure his first World Championship title. |

"MP4" stood initially for "Marlboro Project 4". The team's cars still use the same nomenclature, but since the change of sponsor for the 1997 season, MP4 is now, said to stand for McLaren-Project 4. At no time has the "MP4" prefix reflected the particular generation of the chassis.
Alain Prost left to join the Ferrari team in 1990. Nevertheless, McLaren continued to dominate Formula One for the next two seasons, with Senna winning the World Drivers' Championship in 1990, using the MP4/6 V12. McLaren also won the constructors title in 1991 with Senna's new teammate Gerhard Berger. This was a great period for McLaren with Senna in the #1 car and reigning world champion.

McLaren was able to convince Honda to switch its backing from Williams starting in 1988. The McLaren-Honda MP4/4 won an amazing 15 of 16 races that year and leading all but 27 laps, achieving a staggering and unbeaten record to this date. (Senna had been leading comfortably at Monza, but collided with back-marker Jean-Louis Schlesser's Williams.) Ayrton Senna took the driver's title that season, his first with the Woking marque. The next year, using a new 3.5L naturally-aspirated engine designed by Honda, McLaren again won both titles with the McLaren MP4/5, with Alain Prost clinching it at the Japanese Grand Prix after a highly controversial collision with his teammate Senna. This was the culmination of a vitriolic feud between the two men. |

A new era had begun for Team Lotus for the 1987 Grand Prix season. The traditional elegant John Player Special livery had disappeared and had been replaced by cigarette brand Camel. Team Lotus had also changed their engine supplier. They switched to Japanese Honda units. Honda had made enormous progress with their turbocharged V6 engines in the Williams team, so they had decided to supply a second top level team with that unit. | Sold Out |
Ayrton Senna was the lead driver. French engineer Gerard Ducarouge, who had been at Matra, Ligier and Alfa Romeo before he had joined Team Lotus, designed a very competitive chassis with active ride suspension, for the Honda V6. 1987 became a very good season for Camel Team Lotus. Senna won two Grand Prix, Detroit and Monaco, and he finished 3rd in the drivers´worldchampionship behind the Williams Honda drivers Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell. Lotus also scored the 3rd position in the constructor´s worldchampionship behind Williams Honda and McLaren TAG. |

1973 BWM 3.0 CSL "Batmobile" Click on the picture for details. |

The 3.0 CSL is considered the first project by the BMW M division. The CSL was first produced in May 1971 as a lightweight version of the six cylinder 3.0 coupe and to homologate for European Touring Car Group 2 races. It had thinner body panels, no front bumper, fibreglass rear bumper, side windows made from Plexiglass and alloy opening panels to reduce weight. The suspension was stiffened by Bilstein gas shockers with advanced progressive-rate springs. In August 1973 the 3.2 litre 206 bhp "Batmobile" was released. It had a weird-looking wing that was intrinsic to its success in the European Touring Car series; created in a Stuttgart wind tunnel, the radical wing helped the CSL easily outpace competitive Capri's and cut lap times by a staggering 15 seconds in Nurburgring. | $199aud

In November 1975 Peter Brock was involved with Bill Patterson in a BMW 3.5 CSL bought from South Africa. The aim was to run it in the 1976 Le Mans 24-Hour with support from Bridgestone. Brock and the car raced at a number of events and BMW Motor sport had reportedly promised Brock support if he ran the German car in South East Asia and Australasia. Brock's drive with Brian Muir at Le Mans was a disaster with gear box failure. BMW Cap Autographed by Peter Brock |

This model has become rare and valuable. There is one now available
from a private collector who has decided to let it go to a new home.
Bentley dominated Le Mans in the early days. Winning each year from 1926 to 1930. Whilst proving to be quicker than the Speed Six, the Blower was not as durable and never won at Le Mans. The car still holds the Le Mans lap record, at an average speed of 89.69mph (144.362km/h), for the course as it was at the time. The Blower Bentleys, if somewhat controversial, are undoubtedly amongst the most charismatic and best known Bentleys ever produced. |
