The E21 was the first of the 2013 season cars to be launched. Following criticism of the cars raced in 2012 for being "ugly" because of a visible step in the design of the nose, the 2013 technical regulations allowed teams to use a "modesty panel", or a small piece of carbon fiber designed to cover the nose of the car for aesthetic purposes. However, the E21 was launched without a modesty panel, as the team felt that it offered no aerodynamic benefit, and that the aesthetic qualities it offered were not worth the added weight, however slight the weight gain might be. I was successful on it's debut winning the Australian Grand Prix.

The Williams Renault FW18 Formula One car was designed by Patrick Head and Adrian Newey for the 1996 Formula One season. Powered by a 3.0 litre Renault V10 engine, the FW18 drew heavily on the 1995 Williams car, the FW17, but the drivers sat lower in the cockpit, which lowered the car's centre of gravity, thus aiding the handling of the car.

Newey's aerodynamics placed the car well ahead of the Benetton B196s of Gerhard Berger and Jean Alesi and the Ferrari F310s that Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine had at their disposal. The FW18s were driven by Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve. The car proved to be the most successful of the entire 1996 field; winning 12 of the 16 races during the season, with Hill winning 8 and Villeneuve winning 4. The FW18 was also the car in which Damon Hill won the Drivers' Championship title, making him the first son of a World Champion to become a Champion himself. Damon Hill helped to develop the FW18, and the car seemed to respond well to his smooth driving style. The car was extremely reliable, completeing 1778 laps of a possible 2028, more than any other car that season. The car responded well to set-up changes and was competitive on all types of circuits.

Four-time World Drivers' Champion Lewis Hamilton, secured his 4th world drivers championship after 2016 World Champion Nico Rosberg's retired from the sport. Powered by a hybrid Mercedes-AMG F1 M08 EQ Power+, 1.6 L 90° V6 turbocharged engine, with 2 Electric motors/genertaors, one linked to the crankshaft and the other linked to the turbo, with lithium-ion batteries, combined output is 1,000 hp or 750 kW. Transmission is a Xtrac semi-automatic seamless shift sequential gearbox with 8 forward and 1 reverse gears.

In order to improve aerodynamics, Mercedes copied Scuderia Toro Rosso's aerodynamic design for the front suspenion on its 2017 car. Having the top wishbone attach directly to an extension before connecting to an upright. The resultant change in height of the top wishbone prevents disturbance of airflow travelling from the front of the car, to the side-pods and the rear suspension.

Honda dominated with their RA109E 72° V10 giving 675 hp (503 kW) at 13000 rpm, enabling Prost driving the McLaren MP4/5, to win the championship in front of his teammate Senna. The MP4/5 was unveiled for pre-season testing and it was instantly on the pace, as well as reliable. Developed by Neil Oatley, the MP4/5 was the car to beat in the new season. McLaren took 10 victories during the season, 6 for Ayrton Senna and 4 for Prost. This was at a time when the relationship between the two men was at breaking point, so their rivalry pushed the development of the car far ahead of the other teams as they tried to out-do each other, although theirs was a very public rivalry, both actually worked well together in testing and Prost believes neither held back any information. Although Senna won six races to Prost's four and usually finished ahead of the Frenchman in the races, accidents and car breakages meant that Senna had 16 fewer points than his French rival.

Designer Adrian Newey had joined McLaren from Williams F1 in 1997, but was unable to influence the design of the McLaren MP4/12 other than adjustment during the season. The work was rewarded when the MP4/12 took a 1-2 win at the 1997 European Grand Prix. When the 1998 season got under way four months later it became clear that Newey had adapted to the rule changes for 1998 best. With the cars now narrower and running on grooved tyres, the MP4/13 was the car to beat.
The dominance of the MP4/13 was displayed in the opening race of the season, the 1998 Australian Grand Prix. Drivers Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard outclassed the competition by leaving every competitor at least a lap behind. Adrian Newey's aerodynamic design was by far the most efficient one and Mercedes produced the most powerful engine of the season. McLaren's dominance continued on the second race of the season in Brazil, but from the next GP in Argentina, Ferrari started closing the huge gap. However, the MP4/13 retained its superiority on high-speed tracks like Hockenheim and Silverstone, while Ferrari's F300 was closer to the McLaren on more technical circuits. Coulthard spoke of the MP4/13 later on, saying the car was fast but it understeered through slow corners; this was due to Newey's design that maximized the car's aerodynamic grip over its mechanical grip.

The pre-season testing proved that the car was a long way behind the two leaders, Ferrari and Mercedes, in both pace and reliability. The team opted for a low drag design philosophy for 2017. The Australian Grand Prix proved that the team was the 3rd quickest behind Ferrari and Mercedes. Ricciardo crashed during his opening run in Q3 and received a 5-place grid penalty for changing his car's gearbox. In the race misery continued for Ricciardo at his home Grand Prix with the car braking down during the installation laps and was forced to start 2 laps down as his mechanics worked to repair his car. Ricciardo later retired on lap 26 after his engine failed. He rated it as one of his worst race weekends.

Chassis number 5 was the fifth example of six Ferrari 500 F2 racing cars built by Ferrari. Alberto Ascari and chassis number 5 dominated Formula One for the next two seasons winning back to back titles in 1952/53. In late 1954 Tony Gaze acquired the former Ascari car which had been renumbered by the factory with a new plate 0480 and had the Ferrari upgraded with a larger capacity 2.5 liter engine. Over the next few years Tony raced the famous Ferrari with much success before selling the Ferrari to Lex Davison. Lex won two of his four Australian Grand Prix’s with the Ferrari, becoming one of the most successful racing teams in Australia. The car was sold onto a number of Australian owners spending a number of years in Western Australia, being raced at Caversham by Doug Green.

After the ground effect cars were banned at the end of the previous season, the FIA mandated that all F1 cars be designed with flat undersides. The previously crucial sidepods were now generating lift rather than suction so the BT52 had short, angular sidepods to keep lift at a minimum. The car featured a distinctive dart-shaped profile and oversized rear wing in an effort to claw back as much downforce as possible. Piquet became the first driver to win the world championship with a turbo engine after winning at Brazil, Italy and the European GP and scoring consistently securing podium places. The BT52 was updated after the Canadian Grand Prix to the BT52B and proceeded to win three of the remaining seven races of the season. With Piquet winning his second World Drivers' Championship with 59 points, Brabham finished third in the Constructors' Championship with 72 points, 7 behind second placed Renault and 17 behind winners Ferrari.

The B195 was not as stable as the FW17. When Gerhard Berger came from Ferrari to Benetton in late 1995 during winter testing, he found the balance of the car very poor, and Schumacher made the comment: "If he had driven the car at the beginning of the season, he would have spun in the pit-lane!" After an initial disqualification and subsequent re-instatement of victory in Brazil, Michael Schumacher carried on from where he had left off in 1994, and battled Damon Hill for the world championship. The two drivers had several collisions and near misses just as in 1994, the most notable was at the British Grand Prix that year when Hill attempted to pass and took both him and Schumacher out of the race. Schumacher capitalised on mistakes by Williams and Hill and took nine victories, easily retaining his championship. The Benetton team won its first Constructors' Championship that season, but most of their key technical staff defected to Ferrari when Schumacher signed for them for the 1996 season.

That one kilogram had to be reduced somehow. Finally an ingenious solution: All they had to do is remove the paintwork. So over night the paint is sanded off completely.

In its shining silver aluminium body it is  exactly 750 kgs - and a rousing victory for Mercedes-Benz and the driver Manfred von Brauchitsch.

The enthusiastic press named the racing car "Silver Arrow". Rightly so, then of the eight Grand Prix Races in the first season the silver arrow  wins four first places and three second places.

The Brabham BT19 was the first car bearing its driver's name to win a World Championship race. The car was initially conceived in 1965 for a 1.5-litre falt 16 Coventry Climax engine, but never raced in this form. For the FIA doubled the limit on engine capacity to 3 litres so Brabham enlisted the Australian company Repco to developed a new V8 engine for 1966, Only one BT19 was built. Compared to the Lotus the Brabham BT19 was simple and coventional but supremely reliable. It was bought by Repco in 2004 and put on display in the National Sports Museum in Melbourne, Australia, in 2008. It is often demonstrated at motorsport events.

The BRM V8 powered P57, originally referred to as the P578, was built for the 1962 Formula One season. The P57 gave BRM its only world championship in that year, and was subsequently used for the 1963 season. The P57 was also raced by privateer teams until the end of the 1.5-litre era in 1965.

The P578's design can be traced back to the Climax powered P57, also called P48/P57, raced in 1961. The car's chassis, a tubular spaceframe, and suspension remained unchanged. The underpowered Coventry Climax engine was replaced with BRM's own V8, producing 190 horsepower. Also new for BRM was a Lucas fuel injection system. Although it produced about the same power as the Climax, BRM's unit revved up to 11,000 rpm, some 3,500 revolutions faster. Mounted to the back of the engine was Colotti's new 6 speed gearbox. However, reliability problems forced BRM to revert to their own, older specification, 5 speed unit. The original eight exhausts were mounted vertically, but they were prone to working loose and were replaced by a more conventional horizontal layout.

The car was initially designed in 1979 as a short notice replacement for the team's Alfa Romeo-engined BT48, after Brabham team owner Bernie Ecclestone decided to end his relationship with the Italian engine manufacturer. The BT49 was created in only six weeks using elements of the BT48 chassis together with the widely used Cosworth DFV engine. The monocoque chassis is made from aluminium alloy and carbon fibre composites. The car was fitted with controversial hydropneumatic suspension and water-cooled brakes during its development over four seasons taking a total of seven wins, six poles and 135 points. Seventeen were eventually built, most of which survive today. Some are used successfully in historic motorsport; Christian Glaesel won the 2005 FIA Historic Formula One Championship driving a BT49D.

Schumacher won six of the first seven races of the season after his main rival, Ayrton Senna was killed at the San Marino Grand Prix. Other teams suspected the B194 was not legal, due to the high competitiveness of such a comparatively underpowered car. The FIA launched an investigation and a start sequence (launch control) system was discovered in the cars' onboard computer systems but no traction control. In the end, the governing body could not prove the systems had been used so the complaints were dropped. Schumacher himself was subject to controversy, after being disqualified from the British Grand Prix and then the Belgian Grand Prix which allowed Damon Hill to cut into the German's points lead and as they came to the final race in Australia, Hill and Schumacher were separated by one point. Schumacher commented years later that the B194 was actually quite a handful to drive, being twitchy at the rear end.

The D50 made its race debut toward the end of the 1954 Formula One season in the hands of two-time and reigning World Champion, Italian driver Alberto Ascari. Following Ascari's death, and in increasing financial trouble, the Lancia family sold their controlling share in the Lancia company, and the assets of Scuderia Lancia to Scuderia Ferrari. Ferrari continued to develop the car and it was rebadged as the Lancia-Ferrari D50 and later simply the Ferrari D50.

Ferrari's star driver Juan Manuel Fangio arrived in a D50 fitted with a long nose, the tip of which was painted with a blue/yellow stripe. In the qualifying practice, only three tenths of a second separatd Fangio and Collins, and it sent Fangio to pole position. Castellotti took the third starting place after Collins. Behind Castellotti was Stirling Moss. The 22-lap race began well for Ferrari. Even before the first corner, Collins managed to take the lead. However, Fangio overtook him in the first lap and never gave up his lead until the end of the race. During the race, Fangio and Collins repeatedly broke the 17-year-old track record, and a new record time was eventually set at 9: 41.6 min by Fangio. Unfortunately, Collins retired but Fangio won with a clear lead of 45 seconds over Stirling Moss, who finished a few seconds ahead of Maserati driver Behra for a second place. The big winner of the race was certainly Juan Manuel Fangio, who claimed pole position, victory and the fastest lap time. In the drivers contest, J.M. Fangio again took the championship lead with an advantage of eight points in the season finale at the still outstanding GP Italy in Monza...

Both were excellent development drivers, gaving technical feedback on the car and engine, pushing development further than other teams.
